Accepting Application

Hello dog lovers! I'm Judy, Judith, Jude or whatever you might like to call me. I'm an appx. 25 pound schnauzer mix, fixed, vaccinated and dewormed.

Okay...so, I am a terrier AND a pup. That means 2 things....I am very smart AND I have a lot of energy. I LOVE to run and play fetch. I would make a GREAT hiking, biking and possibly horseback riding companion (I'm working on my manners).

I am totally house trained and I know how to sit. I'm learning not to pull when on a leash and have pretty good recall off leash, except when my nose gets the better of me.

I am super sweet with most people and love to cuddle and play. I sometimes bark when I meet older men, likely due to past trauma, but I warm up quickly with guidance.

I have some prey drive and have had a hard time not chasing the cat in my foster home....I can learn as I am smart but will need a firm hand to live with a cat.

Now, let's talk about other dogs. I was a stray before coming to Ruff Start and didn't have great experiences with big dogs. Thus, I am reactive when I meet new, big dogs. I am in training for this and what's interesting is that after I get over the initial introduction, I do great with other dogs. In fact, I'm in my second foster home where I am successfully living and playing with other dogs. My foster family is pretty sure I can outgrow my reactivity with the right family (a bit of experience and patience).

So that's me. I'm funny, quirky, busy, sweet and have a few things I need help with. Oh...and if it's not too much to ask, I would love a big fenced yard to run and play in.
